Consultations are available at Love Lily's studio in Sunderland or we can come to you.

Clients are welcome to sample some of our delicious cakes, view many full size examples and discuss their design requirements in detail.

All of our cakes are bespoke and made to order. We can either design something new or you can choose a design from our portfolio.

If you decide to choose a design from our portfolio we can change colours and flowers to compliment any theme that you may be having at your celebration.

Flavours

All of our cakes are freshly baked to order and are available in a scrumptious selection of flavours. Please note that each tier can be a different flavour. Our favourite flavour combinations are:

  • Traditional fruit cake
  • Vanilla Sponge, vanilla buttercream, raspberry jam
  • Lemon Sponge, lemon buttercream and lemon curd
  • Orange Sponge, orange buttercream, orange marmalade
  • Chocolate Sponge, chocolate butter cream
  • Rich Chocolate Cake, chocolate ganache
  • Carrot Cake and lemon buttercream

Please feel free to choose your own combinations and if you would like a flavour which is not listed above just ask us and we can usually oblige.

Allergies and Special Dietary Requirements

If you have any allergies or special dietary requirements please let us know

Nuts:

Our traditional fruitcake contains almonds and our carrot cake contains walnut, although a nut free recipe is available on request. All of our other flavours do not contain nuts as an ingredient. However, we cannot guarantee that the ingredients that we use are not contaminated at source, therefore all cakes may contain traces of nuts.

Wheat free:

We can make wheat free cakes, substituting normal flour for wheat free flour.

Alcohol:

Our fruitcakes are made with brandy, but we can also make them alcohol free if required.

Dairy Free:

This option is also available.

Pricing and Serving information

Each of our cake are individually priced, depending on the shape of the cake and the amount of decoration. If you are interested in a cake from our portfolio please click on the picture of the cake you would like for pricing information or contact us.

As a guide, our starting prices for any flavour of cake or combination of fruit and sponge are as follows:

Serving information

This guide is based on a serving size of 1” x 2”. This is the ideal size if serving your cake with coffee or as part of a buffet. Traditionally Fruit cake is served 1” x 1” or 0.5“ x 1.5” portions.

Lead times

We ask for three months notice when ordering a wedding cake and a months notice for a celebration cake. However, depending on our schedule we may be able to accept orders at shorter notice. To avoid disappointment, please place your order as far in advance as possible as we've already taken bookings for 2011!

Payment

To confirm an order, a 20% non refundable deposit is required, the balance is due one month before the collection or delivery of the cake. We accept payment by cash or personal cheque.

Cake Design Alterations

Design alterations can be made up to but no later than 1 month before collection/delivery. If the alteration affects the cost then your balance will be adjusted accordingly.

Collection/Delivery

Delivery within 15 miles of sunderland is free of charge. Delivery charges for other destinations are available on request.

If you choose delivery, we will liaise with the banqueting team at the venue regarding timings and set up. All cakes can be collected from our Sunderland studio.

If the cake is collected, we will not liable for any damage to the cake once it has left our studio.

Decoration Information

Cakes decorated with fresh flowers

If your cake design requires fresh flowers, your florist will supply these. We will liaise directly with your florist regarding the specific floral requirements and we will decorate the cake with the flowers on site.

NB. Please note some flowers are not suitable for use as a cake decoration. Ask your florist for details regarding toxicity. We cannot be liable for any contamination to our food product that may arise from their misuse.

Cakes decorated with diamantes

Please note that the diamante crystals that are used to decorate some of our cakes are not edible and must be removed from your cake before serving. All of our decorative gems are only used at the clients request and we accept no responsibility for any physical harm that may arise from their use.

Stand hire

We can supply stands at you request. Cake stand hire prices vary, please contact us for futher information. A refundable deposit is required on hiring a stand. This is held in your file until the stand is returned to us. Stands must be returned within one week of hire unless otherwise stated.

Cancellation Policy

All cancelations must be made in writing. All deposits are none refundable. Any booking cancelled between 14 and 28 days prior to delivery of the order will be entitled to a 25% refund (not including he none refundable deposit). All cancelations made later than 14 days prior to delivery of the order will only result in a refund at the companies absolute discretion.
